When we bought our boat, and I started to outfit our galley, I found the original Magma 10-piece non-stick stacking cookware set. Let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer for my cooking experience! This set includes everything you might need: a 1.5-quart saucepan with a lid, a 2.5-quart saucepan with a lid, a 5-quart stockpot with a lid, a frying pan, a deep frying pan, and a steamer insert (sold separately). It’s an all-star lineup that caters to different cooking styles and needs.

Magma Products is famous in the boating world for making some of the best stainless steel rail-mount grills available. Many don’t know, however, that they also make excellent cookware, utility tables, and kayak/SUP racks for boats.
Eight years and hundreds of dishes later, it still looks pretty much like the day it came out of the box. Sure, there might be a few dings on the inside, but it cleans up so well that you’d never know I’ve been using it for so long.
One of the standout features of Magma cookware is its incredible space-saving design. The pots and pans seamlessly nest together, allowing the entire kit to be stored in the space of a standard-sized crock pot. This is a huge plus when you have limited space on a boat! These versatile pieces also work wonderfully on gas, electric, and induction stoves, making them perfect for any cooking situation, whether at home or on the water. I also suggest adding their felt pot protectors to keep the set from rattling and the pots from getting scratched when stacked together.

My set is blue (it matches our blue hull) and is the older design with a white porcelain finish inside. However, Magma recently upgraded the pots, and they now feature a full non-stick coating. You can also get a stainless-steel finish without the non-stick if you prefer.
I suggest getting the non-stick coating because it makes cleanup a breeze, which is important when conserving water on board. I appreciate being able to avoid the hassle of scrubbing pots and pans after a long day of cruising. Additionally, the set comes in various colors, such as black, red, blue, and stainless steel, so you can choose one that fits your style!

The Magma set is a bit on the pricey side, typically around $400. However, I recommend watching for sales and special deals because I’ve seen it go for as low as $270! Check Amazon, Ali-Express, most boat outfitters, and the MagmaProducts.com website.
If a full ten-piece set feels like too much, there’s also a seven-piece version available. The seven-piece set includes a 1.5-quart saucepan with a lid, a 2.5-quart saucepan with a lid, a frying pan, and a 5-quart stockpot with a lid, which still offers great versatility.

The construction quality is excellent. The materials are heavy, distribute heat well, and are durable. All of the cookware, except for the removable handles, is oven-safe up to 500°F, so you can use it to cook your favorite baked meals as well.
Honestly, this is the only cookware (aside from a small frying pan) that I keep on our boat. The only downside I’ve come across is that you have to disassemble the Russian nesting doll-style stacking set to get to the specific pot you want, but that’s a small price to pay for such an efficient design.
In my opinion, it’s probably the best cookware set for use on board. If you’re in the market for some solid, space-saving, and high-quality cookware, I can’t recommend the Magma Stacking Cookware Set enough!
