
Brenda’s Famous Blondies
Blonde brownies. Brenda makes these to give to boaters who stop at our local marina. It's her Harbor Host treat, and also a family favorite.
Equipment
- 1 Large Mixing Bowl
- 1 Large Saucepan
- 1 10" x 15" x 1" Baking pan Line bottom with parchment paper or silicone pad to make removal easier.
- 1 Kitchen Knife
Ingredients
- 2 â…” cup All Purpose Flower
- 2 ½ tsp Double Acting Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- â…” cup Butter or Margarine
- 1 lb Brown Sugar
- 3 lg Eggs
- 1 cup Chopped Walnuts Diamond brand perferred, rather than black walnuts for better flavor.
- 12 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Pieces Nestle preferred.
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350℉
- Grease a 15" x 10" x 1" pan.
- Sift together flour, baking power, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter; stir in brown sugar; cool 10 minutes.
- After cooling, Add eggs into butter & sugar mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in flour mixture, nuts, and chocolate pieces until well blended.
- Spread in pan.
- Bake 25-30 minutes, or until center springs back when lighly touched. (insert a toothpick, it should come out clean)
- Cool; cut into squares.
Notes
If you have a small oven (like a toaster or convection oven), you can half the recipe and make a smaller batch.
